Silent Monkeys is a not-for-profit organization set up to teach people how to think for themselves, motivate people to do whatever they believe is best to make the world a better place, and to give them information that might be helpful to do so. We firmly believe that if everyone were well informed and trained to think about things in the long term, we would have a more stable, enjoyable planet to live on. We may not agree on the best way to get there, but the choice of ideas will all be a lot better.
We make documentaries, websites and other educational material. Because we search for truth, not ratings, we rely upon donations. (hint – hint)
We are a 501(c)3 organization. All donations are entirely tax deductible. This also means that by law we cannot support any specific politicians, parties or legislation. We can encourage you to think, and we can supply useful information, but it is up to you to come to your own conclusions. Most of the projects we produce have nothing to do with politics. We are non-partisan and do not support any particular party, nor do we believe that you should. Brilliant ideas come from everywhere. To stand behind party lines and look at everyone else as the enemy is counterproductive.
We do a lot of research for our projects, but we are human. We, like everyone else in the world, do occasionally make mistakes. As much as we try to be truly neutral, it’s impossible to summarize information and include everything that everybody might find useful at the same time. You should not rely upon us or any other single source. While we are a great resource and hopefully your primary resource for some of your information, we would encourage you to find sources that you might find opposing to your normal sensibilities and just… listen. If nothing else, there is wisdom in knowing your enemy. Of course, hopefully you won’t think of them as your enemy but rather someone who also wants to make the world better or solve odd mysteries but have different ideas about how to get there. Some of those ideas might be good ones. Maybe your ideas and their ideas can be combined to come up with something awesome.
Once again, one of the main goals of Silent Monkeys is to teach you to think for yourself, so at all times, use your best judgement and take everything you hear with a grain of salt – even from us.
