You can save America. Really. The divide between people and politicians has been getting wider and wider every year, with advertising dollars becoming more important than doing what is right. But you can change that. VoteWise.net has put together a non-profit, non-partisan website where voters can get information on their candidates - REAL information without political double-talk getting in the way. The site also allows voters to discuss local issues with the people who live near them or debate national issues with other users on the other side of the country.
All the tools on VoteWise are aimed at helping people find comon ground and connecting them with the people and resources to make real change possible. But we need your help to make it work. So what can you do?
1-Go to VoteWise.net and start using the site. Politicians won't use the site unless they know they can reach voters with it, so the more people we can get on there, the more useful it becomes. Right now, it is like a party with the music playing but no one is one the dance floor. We need people like you to be the first onces out there.
2- Spread the word. Talk to your friends. Talk to strangers. Just don’t talk to yourself or other might think you’re nuts. In order for politicians to feel it’s worth their time to fill out the questionnaires, they have to feel that people will actually visit the site, so we need to create a buzz.
3-Tell us your ideas. Look at the longer summary. Take a look at what we have planned. If you have ideas that you think could help democracy, let us know.
4- Donate. In order to create the site and make it work properly, we need to call every single small town to get candidate information, call thousands of candidates, create databases… It’s labor intensive. We need money. Not a lot, but we can’t do it without your help. A dollar here and a dollar there really goes a long way.
Together we can return democracy to the people.
